The Workshop Objectives

•  To generate greater interest in solving challenging and non-routine mathematics problems amongst pupils

•  To encourage all pupils to develop good critical and creative thinking skills

Workshop Outline and Methodology

We will focus on solving thinking questions, similar to actual examination papers. These will give students a framework on how to think differently/creatively to solve problems and to develop life skills like critically evaluating answers to the problem and making logical deduction and induction.

The Heuristics follows a 5-STEP PROCEDURE:

1. Identify the problem.

2. Find the facts.

3. Pick a Strategy.

4. Do the Math.

5. Answer the question
