The Programe Objectives

•  To help the pupils grasp and reinforce essential mathematical concepts through fun and engaging activities.

•  To promote creativity and problem solving skills through real-life situation

•  To inculcate in pupils that mathematics is all around them

•  To enable pupils to learn Mathematics in a fun and interesting way.

 
Examples of the activities tha can be conducted are shown below. The activities and questions posed will commensurate with the level of the students.

Determine the amount of cement needed to build a particular portion of the pedestrian walkway

Measurement: length, mass, volume

 

Decimals

The students will have to measure the length of the given portion using whatever means they can think of, and then with the information given to them determine the volume of cement needed and its mass.

Figures used will have decimals.

Orienteering

Geometry: perpendicular and parallel lines, angles and geometrical figures

Measurement: length

The students will be given a set of instructions involving geometry and length for them to find their way from a given start point through several checkpoints
